The bed is much shorter than I expected—I've never seen a bunk bed this low."

Five Stars for Value and Weight Capacity

"I'm giving this five stars because after searching both in stores and online, I couldn't find another bunk bed with this kind of weight capacity at such a low price. With a teen and preteen at home, a bed with a 100 lb. weight limit just wasn't an option. The 200 lb. top bunk limit on this bed makes it a five-star deal at this price point.

That said, there are a few very minor issues, mostly related to the paint job, that might bother someone expecting perfection, even at this budget price. For me, these weren't dealbreakers. I didn't expect a $1000 bed for $160, so I'm okay with the small imperfections. There are a couple of spots where the paint didn't cover completely, giving it a slightly rusty appearance. It's not the type of rust that weakens the metal, just some bare spots that weren't treated. These areas are near the joints, so once the bed is assembled, they're barely noticeable. The slats got scuffed during shipping, likely from rubbing together since they weren't individually wrapped. It's minor and not very visible. The bolts do stick out a bit, but they're rounded and coated, so I don't see it as an issue—they're designed that way. One thing that did bother me slightly is that one of the slats was bent. It seems like it was bent before shipping, as it was the only one like that. It doesn't affect the bed's sturdiness, so I placed it near the head of the bed where it won't bear much weight, just in case.

Now, onto the positives. This bed is very sturdy, quite heavy, and it doesn't squeak or wobble. While assembling it is a bit tedious, it's straightforward, and the instructions are clear. Everything you need is included in the box. The instructions recommend having two people for assembly and estimate about two hours to complete it. I strongly suggest getting help if you can. I had to do it on my own, and while I managed to assemble it in about an hour, it was definitely challenging.

One important note: the instructions say not to tighten the bolts until the bed is fully assembled, and I can't emphasize this enough. DO NOT TIGHTEN THE BOLTS UNTIL THE BED IS FULLY ASSEMBLED. I hand-tightened them and had to back some out because they were too tight, even just from hand-tightening."

I managed to put this together mostly on my own, with just a little assistance from my boyfriend. It was fairly easy to assemble, and the height is perfect for my kids' room. I love that there are ladders on both sides, which makes it easier to place in small spaces. If you set it against the wall, there's still another way to reach the top. It came with all the necessary tools, and everything fit together smoothly. It also took up less space than I expected, which was a nice surprise. My kids love it.

I got this bunk bed for my 8-year-old, and it's been a wonderful addition to the room. I was initially concerned about the size, but it ended up fitting perfectly. The assembly process was simple, especially with the detailed instructions provided. The bed feels sturdy, and the wall anchors included give added peace of mind. It looks even better than I anticipated, and being able to position the ladder on either side is a convenient feature for room layout. Overall, it's a great value for the price.
