The bed is much shorter than I expected—I've never seen a bunk bed this low."
That said, there are a few very minor issues, mostly related to the paint job, that might bother someone expecting perfection, even at this budget price. For me, these weren't dealbreakers. I didn't expect a $1000 bed for $160, so I'm okay with the small imperfections. There are a couple of spots where the paint didn't cover completely, giving it a slightly rusty appearance. It's not the type of rust that weakens the metal, just some bare spots that weren't treated. These areas are near the joints, so once the bed is assembled, they're barely noticeable. The slats got scuffed during shipping, likely from rubbing together since they weren't individually wrapped. It's minor and not very visible. The bolts do stick out a bit, but they're rounded and coated, so I don't see it as an issue—they're designed that way. One thing that did bother me slightly is that one of the slats was bent. It seems like it was bent before shipping, as it was the only one like that. It doesn't affect the bed's sturdiness, so I placed it near the head of the bed where it won't bear much weight, just in case.
Now, onto the positives. This bed is very sturdy, quite heavy, and it doesn't squeak or wobble. While assembling it is a bit tedious, it's straightforward, and the instructions are clear. Everything you need is included in the box. The instructions recommend having two people for assembly and estimate about two hours to complete it. I strongly suggest getting help if you can. I had to do it on my own, and while I managed to assemble it in about an hour, it was definitely challenging.
One important note: the instructions say not to tighten the bolts until the bed is fully assembled, and I can't emphasize this enough. DO NOT TIGHTEN THE BOLTS UNTIL THE BED IS FULLY ASSEMBLED. I hand-tightened them and had to back some out because they were too tight, even just from hand-tightening."
The color is bright and adds a fun element to their room. My daughters are absolutely delighted with it! The ladder is well-designed, making it easy for them to climb up and down. Plus, the bed is silent, which is a big bonus.
All in all, this bunk bed is a fantastic blend of style, safety, and durability. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a reliable and stylish bunk bed for their kids!"
